Lyons teen charged after officer injured during scuffle

Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts reports the arrest of a Lyons teen following an incident at the Wayne County Jail, which resulted in a corrections officer being injured.

Khalif B. Foster, 18, of Lyons was charged with four counts of second-degree assault, one count of third-degree assault, and two counts of criminal obstruction of breathing.



Foster is being held on unrelated charges, according to deputies. He was arrested and arraigned at the jail.

The condition of the corrections officer, and further details about the incident itself were not released.
