Three village of Waterloo representatives asked the Town Board last week to consider exempting the village’s water treatment plant, water storage tank and other water system facilities from local property taxes.
Mayor Jack O’Connor, Village Administrator Don Northrup and Water Superintendent Jim Bromka made the appeal.
Fayette has assessed the village of Waterloo’s water facilities on Kime Road on Seneca Lake at $3.85 million. The village paid $29,245 in property taxes to the town and county in 2019, plus $88,458 in school taxes in 2018.
