Tickets have not yet gone on sale for Woodstock 50 with no clear answers on the delay.
The festival organizers were reportedly putting the tickets up for sale on April 22, marking Earth Day. However, on the day in question, the event’s website still said ‘coming soon’ with no information released by organizers as to what caused the delay.
News10NBC reached out to the New York State Department of Health, which is in charge of approving the festival’s permit.
A public information officer stated, “the Department received an application for a mass gathering permit for the Woodstock 50th event on Monday, April 15th and is in the process of completing its review.”
According to the Department of Health’s website, you must apply for a mass gathering permit at least 15 days before the first day of advertising an event.
This could explain the radio silence from organizers as it would require them to wait until April 30 before being able to advertise.
The Department of Health’s website goes on to say, “no person shall hold or promote, by advertising or otherwise, a mass gathering unless a permit has been issued for the gathering by the permit-issuing official.”
