Arcadia man charged with endangering the welfare of a child

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 26-year-old Arcadia resident following a domestic incident on Sunday.

Deputies arrested Brian Vanwinkle, 26, of Arcadia for endangering the welfare of a child.

They say the arrest stems from an incident at Houses Motel where Vanwinkle is accused of kicking a door, and nearly striking a 4-year-old child.

He then proceeded to become irate, according to deputies – yelling and cursing in front of the child. Deputies say the child became upset and fearful for their safety.

Vanwinkle was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. The charges will be answered at a later date.
