New York State investing millions in healthcare projects

New York state is investing $204 million in 95 different health care projects around the state.

The funding includes grants for new health care facilities, and expansions and upgrades to existing facilities. The facilities receiving funds vary from in-patient hospitals to mental health and substance abuse facilities to outpatient doctors’ offices.

The money is intended to help health care providers improve their care and reduce wait times for patients.

Projects in New York City will receive nearly $78 million, the largest amount for any of the state’s regions.

The mid-Hudson River Valley is second with $24 million, and central New York is third with $21 million.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the money represents an investment in “cutting edge” medical infrastructure that will benefit every corner of the state.
