A Seneca Falls man wanted in North Carolina and Seneca County was taken into custody without incident after two warrants had been issued for his arrest.
On Wednesday at approximately 2:52 p.m. police arrested Joshua Moriarity, 27, of Seneca Falls on two warrant cases.
They say Moriarity had an active bench warrant from Seneca County Court for failing to appear in 2015; and on New Years Eve this year – North Carolina Department of Corrections issued a parole warrant for him after he cut his electronic monitoring system and fled that state.
It’s believed that in 2015 – Moriarity fled New York to North Carolina. Then, he fled North Carolina to another location.
The Seneca Falls Police Department received information that he was staying with known associates in Town; and was subsequently arrested after being located.
He was transported to the Seneca County Jail where he will remain until he appears in Court.
The Seneca Falls Police Department was assisted by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. Police say Moriarity will eventually be extradited back to North Carolina.
