Another Pipekeepers operator faces over a dozen felony charges

A Lawtons man was arrested following a Cayuga County indictment tied to searches in three Finger Lakes counties. State Police said investigators seized firearms, cannabis, untaxed cigarettes and money in October 2025.

Another Pipekeepers operator faces over a dozen felony charges

A third operator of the Pipekeepers smoke shop in Montezuma has been arrested on felony charges stemming from an investigation into firearms, cannabis and untaxed cigarettes.

Daryll Jimerson, 56, of Lawtons, was taken into custody Nov. 2 during a traffic stop in Collins, Erie County, according to a New York State Police announcement. A Cayuga County grand jury indicted him in May.

Jimerson faces eight counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, three counts of third-degree criminal possession of an assault weapon, first-degree criminal possession of cannabis and a felony charge involving at least 30,000 unstamped cigarettes.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office and a U.S. Marshals task force located Jimerson on Versailles Plank Road. He was processed at the State Police barracks in Canandaigua and transported to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.

The charges follow coordinated searches conducted Oct. 24, 2025, at properties in Cayuga, Seneca and Wayne counties. State Police said investigators seized firearms, cannabis, untaxed cigarettes, cash and other evidence.

One of the locations was Pipekeepers at 7153 Route 90 in Montezuma. As FingerLakes1 previously reported, two other operators were charged following the raid.

Those defendants, Dustin H. Parker and Nora A. Weber, have pleaded not guilty.

The investigation included assistance from the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the state Office of Cannabis Management and local law enforcement agencies.
