Mets claim Kyren Paris, designate Cristian Pache for assignment

The New York Mets claimed infielder Kyren Paris off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels and designated outfielder Cristian Pache for assignment Thursday.

The moves appear in the team's latest injuries and transactions update, which lists them among its Oct. 29 roster decisions.

The same update records third baseman Bo Bichette's decision to exercise his 2027 player option, a move FL1 previously covered.

On the injury side, the team updated Tylor Megill's recovery information Friday. The right-hander threw live batting practice in October and reached 98 mph after missing the 2026 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. The Mets expect him to enter spring training at full strength as a rotation depth option.
