The Yankees are represented by catcher Austin Wells, left fielder Cody Bellinger and utility player José Caballero. Wells is seeking his first Gold Glove after finishing second among major league catchers in defensive runs saved. He will compete against Detroit’s Dillon Dingler, who led the position in that category, and Toronto’s Brandon Valenzuela.

Bellinger is also looking for another defensive honor, having last won a Gold Glove in 2019 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the same season he earned the National League Most Valuable Player award. His 21 defensive runs saved in left field led all players at the position, putting him among the finalists alongside Tampa Bay’s Chandler Simpson and Texas’ Wyatt Langford.

The Mets’ finalists include catcher Luis Torrens, pitcher Nolan McLean and right fielder Carson Benge. Torrens is pursuing his first Gold Glove in his ninth major league season, facing competition from San Diego’s Freddy Fermin and Arizona’s Gabriel Moreno.

McLean is also a first-time finalist at pitcher. His defensive runs saved total ranked third among National League pitchers, behind St. Louis’ Michael McGreevy and Chicago’s Shota Imanaga. Atlanta’s Chris Sale is the other finalist in the category.

Benge gives the Mets another opportunity for a rookie to earn the honor. The right fielder will compete against Arizona’s Corbin Carroll and Chicago’s Seiya Suzuki.
