Early voting totals cover Oct. 24-26

The first day, Saturday, Oct. 24, drew 2,179 voters. Another 1,229 voted Sunday, followed by 1,774 on Monday.

Although the update was dated 4 p.m. Oct. 27, its early voting table contained totals only for Oct. 24-26. The Tuesday entry and subsequent dates had no turnout figures listed.

Among those early voters, 2,605 were enrolled in the Democratic or Working Families parties, 1,435 were Republicans or Conservatives, and 1,142 had no party affiliation or were enrolled in other minor parties. Those figures describe voter enrollment, not votes cast for candidates.

Early voting is open from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Oct. 29-30; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 31-Nov. 1.

The three sites are the Board of Elections Office, 74 Ontario St. in Canandaigua; Geneva Housing Authority Offices, 41 Lewis St. in Geneva; and Victor Town Hall, 85 E. Main St. in Victor. Registered county voters may use any of the three locations.

Mail ballots and registered voters

The board listed 3,696 mail ballot applications: 1,622 from Democratic or Working Families voters, 1,093 from Republicans or Conservatives, and 981 from voters with no party affiliation or other minor-party enrollments.

Of the 2,196 returned mail ballots, 999 came from Democratic or Working Families voters, 656 from Republicans or Conservatives, and 541 from the remaining enrollment group. Two returned ballots were listed as pending cure, both in the Republican-Conservative group.

In addition to active voters, the county listed 5,678 inactive voters. Its enrollment figures, which include inactive voters, were 24,788 Democrats, 30,647 Republicans, 24,284 unaffiliated voters, 1,740 Conservatives, 298 Working Families voters and 3,500 with other enrollments.

The board cautioned that all figures are unofficial and subject to change.

On Election Day, Nov. 3, Ontario County will have 45 polling sites serving 92 election districts. Voters must use their assigned Election Day polling place; polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
