A Victory woman faces felony drunken-driving charges after deputies said she hit a telephone pole and overturned her vehicle into a ditch in Sterling on Oct. 21.
Tessa Shufelt, 41, was arrested after deputies responded around 12:04 a.m. to the crash near State Route 104 and Wright Road, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies determined she was intoxicated and took her into custody around 12:49 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.
She provided a breath sample showing a blood alcohol content of 0.15% after being taken to the Public Safety Building, according to the release.
Shufelt was charged with two felony driving-while-intoxicated offenses based on a prior DWI conviction in 2019, along with other vehicle and traffic offenses.
She was brought to centralized arraignment at Cayuga County Jail and released on her own recognizance.
She is due to answer the charges in Sterling Town Court at a later date.
