Canandaigua woman charged with obstruction, harassment after motel fight

An Ontario County sheriff’s investigation into a fight at a Canandaigua motel ended with a woman charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and three counts of second-degree harassment.

Deputies responded Friday night to the Super 8 Motel at 4450 State Route 5 and 20 in the town of Canandaigua after a report of a physical fight, according to a news release from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Maya Muhleisen, 21, of Canandaigua, had caused a disturbance and struck another motel patron.

They described her as highly intoxicated when they arrived.

As deputies tried to detain Muhleisen to investigate, she kicked three deputies and tried to bite a fourth, the sheriff’s office said.

Muhleisen was taken to Thompson Hospital and issued an appearance ticket.

She is due in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date, according to the release.
