Canandaigua water bills due Oct. 30 before late penalty

Town of Canandaigua water customers must pay their final quarterly bill of 2026 by 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, to avoid a late penalty. The bills were mailed or emailed Oct. 1, according to the town's October newsletter.

The town says any balance left after the deadline will receive a 10% penalty and be added to the January 2027 county and town tax bill. Payments must be received by the deadline; the town says it cannot accept payments afterward.

Customers can pay by cash, check or debit or credit card at the Town Clerk's Office, 5440 Route 5 and 20 West. Card payments carry a processing fee. They can also pay online through the town's water-bill payment portal, where they can check balances and sign up for electronic billing.

Customers signing up for electronic bills need their account number and customer ID, or CID, from the bill. The clerk's office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours until 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Customers with questions about their water service or bill can call the Water Department at 585-394-3300.
