Geneva road milling, paving work begins Monday across multiple streets

Geneva’s Department of Public Works will begin about two weeks of milling and paving work Monday, Oct. 5, with parking and through-traffic restrictions expected on streets across the city.

The city’s schedule calls for milling to begin Monday on Evans and Roosevelt streets before moving to several other locations through Thursday. The schedule for Friday, Oct. 9, will depend on the progress made earlier in the week.

Milling is scheduled for Argyle, Cortland, Madison and Monroe streets on Tuesday. Crews are expected to work on West William Street, Greenhurst Avenue, Garden Street and Division Street on Wednesday and Thursday.

Paving is scheduled to begin the following week. Crews are expected to pave West William Street and Greenhurst Avenue on Monday, Oct. 12, while also completing patching work on Pleasant Street and Hamilton Street.

Garden and Division streets are scheduled for paving Oct. 13, followed by Argyle and Cortland streets Oct. 14. Madison and Monroe streets are scheduled for Oct. 15, with Evans and Roosevelt streets scheduled for Oct. 16.

The city has reserved Oct. 19 through Oct. 23 as a rain-delay extension if additional time is needed.

Parking and through-traffic will be limited during workdays, according to the city. DPW will issue parking restrictions as work progresses, and vehicles violating those restrictions could be towed.

The city’s broader project notice also lists Columbia Street, Pleasant Street and Hamilton Street at North Cloverleaf Drive among the affected locations and says intersecting streets could be affected.

The schedule is subject to change because of weather, project progress and other unforeseen conditions.
