A section of State Route 36 in North Hornell is scheduled to close overnight Monday, Sept. 28, for bridge work.
The restriction will affect the stretch between Adsit Street and Bethesda Drive in the Steuben County village, according to the state Department of Transportation’s advisory.
The closure is scheduled from 10 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday. Drivers should follow the posted detour using Adsit Street, Seneca Street and Bethesda Drive.
DOT’s Sept. 17 notice announced two overnight closures, on Sept. 21 and Sept. 28. The first date has passed; Monday night’s restriction is the remaining scheduled closure in that notice.
The work is tied to a previously announced bridge project. Motorists should anticipate delays and consider alternate routes if necessary.
Construction is weather-dependent, and the schedule can change based on conditions.
DOT urges drivers to slow down in work zones, where speeding fines are doubled. Two or more work-zone speeding convictions can result in a driver’s license suspension.
