Bridge work is scheduled to keep a section of State Route 89 in Seneca Falls reduced to one lane through the end of November.
A temporary traffic signal will control alternating traffic between Hyatt Road and Demont Road, according to the state Department of Transportation’s Sept. 17 advisory.
The restriction was scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, in the town of Seneca Falls, Seneca County. DOT describes a lane reduction for bridge work, rather than a complete road closure.
The work schedule is weather-dependent and can change based on conditions.
DOT urges motorists to slow down and drive responsibly through work zones. Speeding fines are doubled there, and two or more work-zone speeding convictions can result in a driver’s license suspension.
