The closure of Onondaga Lake Parkway in Salina is scheduled to end at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, under a state advisory issued for CSX bridge work.
The restriction affects both directions of State Route 370 between Park Street and Oswego Street in Onondaga County, according to the state Department of Transportation notice.
The announced closure began at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20. Eastbound and westbound motorists are directed to follow the signed detour using Old Liverpool Road while the restriction remains in place.
The planned ending time is not confirmation that the road has reopened. DOT says construction activities are weather-dependent and subject to change based on conditions.
Travelers should check current road conditions by calling 511, visiting 511NY or using the free 511NY mobile app before relying on the scheduled reopening.
DOT also urges drivers to slow down in work zones. Speeding fines are doubled there, and two or more work-zone speeding convictions can result in a driver’s license suspension.
