ALPCO Recycling in Macedon remains a family-owned business after Al Plumb sold the operation to his daughter Chelsea DePoint and grandson Tyler Hickman in September 2025, according to the Times of Wayne County.
The company, which began as a gravel pit in the 1960s and has provided recycling services since 1989, employs 55 people.
The new owners have added a passing lane to the residential drop-off loop and invested in a new bottle-and-can return machine while planning further efficiency improvements.
Services include residential recycling, garbage disposal, junk removal, scrap-metal recycling and roll-off containers, with television and computer-monitor recycling remaining a future possibility rather than an available service.
The facility at 843 Macedon Center Road is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekends.
