The boil water order for properties at 4-56 West Elizabeth St. and 17-38 Center St. in Waterloo has been lifted.
The Seneca County Health Department lifted the Village of Waterloo Water District order Saturday after water sampling showed no bacteria in the distribution system, according to its notice.
The lifting applies to the properties identified in the notice, ending the requirement to boil their water under that order.
The order followed a water main break that caused the system to lose pressure at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. The department's earlier advisory said that loss of pressure could allow untreated water and potentially harmful microbes to enter the system.
The department asks people to share the notice with others who drink the affected water, especially those who may not have received it directly.
That includes people in apartments, nursing homes, schools and businesses. The notice can be posted in a public place or distributed by hand or mail.
