Gov. Kathy Hochul said New York will begin mailing energy rebate checks Sept. 21 to more than 8 million households, according to RochesterFirst.
Eligible joint filers with incomes under $150,000 will receive $200, while those with incomes from $150,000 to $300,000 will receive $150.
Recipients must have filed a timely state resident tax return, lived in New York full time and not been claimed as dependents.
No application is needed for eligible residents to receive a check.
Hochul was also scheduled to mark an education and economic development milestone in Rochester later Monday, though details had not been announced.
