No tenants or first responders were injured after a fire broke out Thursday evening at a two-story residence on Cayuga Street in Seneca Falls.
The Seneca County Communications Center dispatched the Seneca Falls Volunteer Fire Department and several assisting agencies around 6:10 p.m. Sept. 10 for a report of smoke possibly coming from the roof.
District Chief Farnsworth arrived within about a minute and reported smoke showing from the residence, declaring a working fire.
Seneca Falls responded with Quint 1, Engine 3, Engine 1 and Rescue 52, along with several command units.
Firefighters from Fayette, Waterloo, Geneva, Tyre and Clyde also assisted at the scene. Other responding agencies included Oaks Corners Rehab, North Seneca Ambulance, NYSEG, Seneca County Code Enforcement, the Seneca County Fire Investigation Team, Seneca County fire coordinators, Seneca Falls police and the Seneca Falls and Waterloo auxiliaries.
Canoga Fire Department stood by at the Seneca Falls station to provide coverage for the town while local crews were committed to the fire.
The Seneca Falls Fire Department said there were no injuries to residents or emergency personnel.
The department did not release information about the extent of the damage or the cause of the fire.
