Federal authorities seized about 1,250 pounds of marijuana and six firearms after tracking a marine vessel from Cornwall Island to Hogansburg, prosecutors said Monday.
David Terrance was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and ordered detained following an Aug. 25 hearing in federal court.
A criminal complaint alleges Terrance was seen loading bags of suspected marijuana onto the vessel before towing it to his property. Investigators recovered 47 bags during the arrest, prosecutors said.
Federal, tribal, local and Canadian authorities participated in the investigation.
