Officers responded to Asteri Ithaca at 118 E. Green St. around 6:20 p.m. for a report that a person had threatened security staff with a knife without provocation. Police said the person left before officers arrived.

Investigators later identified Collins as the suspect and found him on the Ithaca Commons. He was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Collins was arraigned and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail. The department said the remand was made under New York's "Harm to Harm" provision.
