A Lyons man faces assault and other charges after Wayne County sheriff's deputies said he swerved a vehicle at a bicyclist, sprayed the rider with pepper spray and kicked him in the face during a road rage incident.
Robert A. Bushart, 71, was charged Aug. 14 with third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said the incident began in the village of Newark and continued into the town of Arcadia. They alleged Bushart swerved at the bicyclist, cut the rider off and attacked him on a public road.
Bushart was located based on a description provided by the bicyclist, the Sheriff's Office said. He was processed and taken to the Wayne County Jail for arraignment in centralized arraignment court.
