A Rochester woman was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs after a traffic stop early Saturday in the town of Tyre, according to the Seneca County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said Elizabeth J. Newbury, 36, was stopped around 1:37 a.m. Aug. 8 after they observed a vehicle with a loud exhaust or muffler.
Newbury was evaluated by a drug recognition expert at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center and later taken to Geneva General Hospital, where a blood sample was collected, the sheriff's office said.
She was processed at the Seneca County Correctional Facility and released with an appearance ticket. Deputies said she will answer the charge at a later date after blood-test results are available.
