Corning reported its ninth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth after releasing second-quarter results Tuesday, according to the Hornell Tribune. The company said optical communications, artificial intelligence products, and solar helped drive the gains.
Core sales rose 17 percent from a year earlier to $4.74 billion.
Core earnings per share grew 30 percent to 78 cents.
The Optical Communications segment grew sales 32 percent, while solar sales grew 90 percent.
Corning management expects third-quarter core sales to reach between $4.9 billion and $5 billion.
