A Niles man faces three charges after deputies said he threatened a victim with his fist and a hockey puck during a domestic incident.
The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office said Kenneth E. Young III, 39, was arrested July 19 on charges of second-degree menacing, third-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Deputies responded to an address in Niles around 8:33 p.m. July 18 for a reported domestic incident. Investigators alleged that Young used his fist and the hockey puck to place the victim in fear for her safety.
Young learned police had been called and left in a vehicle before deputies arrived, according to the release. Deputies searched the area but did not find him, and an arrest warrant was issued.
Young turned himself in at the county Public Safety Building around 11:45 a.m. the next day. He was processed, arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
Young is scheduled to appear in Niles Town Court at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 6.
