Regenerative farmer Rick Clark and Cornell soil scientist Harold van Es will headline a New York Soil Health field day Aug. 13 at Rodman Lott & Son Farms in Seneca Falls.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and feature demonstration plots, farmer discussions and hands-on sessions for farmers, agronomists, crop consultants and conservation professionals.
Registration costs $20 and includes a barbecue lunch. Certified crop adviser credits and state pesticide applicator credits will be available.
Clark, a fifth-generation Indiana farmer, will discuss his use of no-till farming, diverse crop rotations and planting into living cover crops in a commercial regenerative organic system.
Van Es will address precision nitrogen management, carbon intensity, fertilizer economics and sustainable cropping systems. He is a professor of soil science at Cornell University.
Clark also will join Delbert Hoover of Dry Spring Farms and Thor Oechsner of Oechsner Farms for a moderated discussion about using soil health practices in commercial farming operations.
Afternoon demonstration stations will cover bio-strip tillage and zone-building systems, manure management, nutrient application, neonicotinoids and integrated pest management.
The program is the second day of the New York Ag Showcase in Seneca County. The New York Corn & Soybean Growers Summer Crop Summit is scheduled for Aug. 12.
The field day is part of a statewide 2026 series with more than 15 events at farms and research sites.
