Trumansburg Middle School Principal Jean Lomax has resigned amid community calls for more transparency, according to The Tompkins Weekly. Superintendent Megan Conaway told families the school board accepted the resignation June 29.
The resignation followed earlier notice that Lomax was on leave, though district officials said they could not discuss confidential personnel matters.
Teachers and residents have questioned the board’s process and asked for more openness around the decision. The district plans to form a stakeholder group as it searches for a new principal.
