Ontario County deputies reported two separate traffic-stop arrests over the weekend, including a Canandaigua case involving suspected crack cocaine and fentanyl and a Victor case involving a Clifton Springs man accused of driving while intoxicated.
Sheriff's officials said three Canandaigua residents were arrested late July 5 after a routine traffic stop on Canandaigua-Farmington Townline Road in Canandaigua.
Joseph Robert Beyea, 59, of 275 Jefferson Ave., Apt. A17; Scott Joseph Smail, 58, of 64 Bristol St.; and Sally Ann Belcher, 67, of 4255 state Route 5 and 20, Lot 2, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth and seventh degrees.
Deputies said the stop led to the discovery of 6.75 grams of presumptive crack cocaine and about 0.5 grams of presumptive fentanyl inside the vehicle. All three were taken to the Ontario County Jail and held pending arraignment, according to the sheriff's office.
In a separate case, deputies said Willie KC Henderson, 42, of 253 White Spruce Lane in Clifton Springs, was arrested July 6 after a traffic stop on state Route 96 in the town of Victor.
Deputies said they stopped the vehicle around 1:28 a.m. after seeing the driver cross over the solid yellow line into the oncoming lane of travel. Henderson was determined to be intoxicated after further investigation, according to the sheriff's office.
Henderson was issued tickets for driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher, no or inadequate plate lamps and failure to keep right. He is scheduled to appear in Victor Town Court at a later date.
