Enfield cell tower faces pushback

A proposed 180-foot cell tower has run into early resistance from Enfield officials, according to Tompkins Weekly.

Planning Board members questioned whether the project meets setback requirements and expressed skepticism about engineering claims that the tower would have virtually no fall radius if it collapsed. Neighbors have also raised concerns about views, lighting and safety.

The applicant is expected to answer questions at the board’s July meeting. A public hearing could follow in August if the proposal moves forward.
