A new summer tasting series will bring small Finger Lakes wine and cider producers to downtown Watkins Glen for three Fridays in July.
Wineries Without Walls and JR Dill Wine Bar are launching the Summer Tasting Series on July 11, 18 and 25 from 1 to 5 p.m. The events will pair rotating tastings at the Watkins Glen Visitors Center with curated wine flights and special pours at JR Dill Wine Bar.
Wineries Without Walls is a collective of small, independent Finger Lakes wineries and cideries that do not operate traditional tasting rooms. The group brings its products directly to consumers through pop-ups, collaborations and special events.
Each Saturday event will feature a rotating lineup of Wineries Without Walls members pouring at the Visitors Center. The tasting fee is $20 per person.
Guests can then continue the experience at JR Dill Wine Bar, where selections and flights will be available.
Erin McMurrough, owner of Little Clover Wine Co. and one of the participating Wineries Without Walls producers, said the series is intended to connect downtown Watkins Glen's summer energy with the creativity of smaller craft producers.
The series is scheduled for the Watkins Glen Visitors Center and JR Dill Wine Bar in downtown Watkins Glen.
