The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says an incarcerated man faces new charges after allegedly injuring a corrections sergeant at the Wayne County Jail.
Jessie D. Adams, 46, was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and one count of second-degree obstructing governmental administration, deputies said.
Investigators said Adams was in custody on unrelated charges when he allegedly injured a Wayne County corrections sergeant who was attempting to stop a fight inside the jail.
Adams was arrested and arraigned in Lyons Town Court. Deputies said he was remanded back to the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections without the opportunity for bail.
He is scheduled to return to Lyons Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
