Construction delays could force Geneva’s popular Lakefront Concert Series to temporarily move from its usual home, according to the Finger Lakes Times. Problems with building materials and a construction setback have slowed work on the park’s new bandshell ahead of the July 1 season opener.
City officials said shipping delays and misaligned anchoring points discovered during concrete work pushed the project behind schedule. Engineers have approved a fix, and construction is expected to resume this week while crews continue repairing shoreline damage from spring storms.
The city says safety remains the top priority and is preparing alternate staging plans if needed. Officials expect all scheduled concerts to go on, even if the new bandshell isn’t finished in time.
