A Town of Sennett woman is facing charges following an investigation into a domestic incident that authorities say occurred during a child custody exchange.
Marybeth Rizzieri, 42, of Sennett, was arrested June 6 on a warrant charging her with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree obstructing governmental administration, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
The charges stem from a May 24 incident in Sennett. Deputies responding to a reported domestic violence call were told that an altercation began during a custody exchange while a child was present. Investigators said the child became frightened and attempted to shield themself from the incident.
Authorities also allege that Rizzieri interfered with deputies during the investigation by pushing against them as they attempted to leave the residence in a patrol vehicle. She was arraigned through the county’s centralized arraignment process and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in Town of Sennett Court at a later date.
