The long-awaited replacement for Auburn’s former Pizza Hut is targeting a June 11 opening date, bringing a new restaurant, expanded menu and updated dining experience to Grant Avenue Road in Sennett.
According to Weedsport Community News, management says the projected opening date remains dependent on final inspections, employee training and other last-minute preparations. While June 11 is the current target, officials said the timeline could still change if unexpected issues arise before opening day.
The new location will operate in Pizza Hut’s newer WingStreet format rather than the traditional Pizza Hut Classic model. Customers can expect the standard pizza menu along with wings, fries, brownies and the return of dessert pizza. The restaurant will also feature updated branding, new landscaping, a pickup window and seating for approximately 50 guests.
Management said it plans to continue offering some familiar features that customers have requested, including a salad bar and buffet on select days. The salad bar may include several new items, while buffet offerings are expected to rotate periodically. The pickup window will be reserved for customers collecting orders and will not function as a traditional drive-thru, a decision management said is intended to prevent traffic backups during busy periods.
Restaurant officials are anticipating strong customer demand when the location opens and are asking patrons to be patient as employees adjust to operations in the new building. The opening will mark the next chapter for Pizza Hut in the Auburn area following the closure of the longtime restaurant on Genesee Street earlier this year.
