A new memorial honoring local service members who died in combat now stands in downtown Clifton Springs, according to News10NBC.
The Clifton Springs VFW Post dedicated the Gold Star family memorial Monday at Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street. The monument includes the names of local veterans killed while serving in World War II, Vietnam and conflicts in the Middle East.
Gold Star families are relatives of military members who died during active service. The memorial now gives the community a permanent place to recognize and remember those sacrifices.
