Woman ticketed after two-car crash in Geneva sends drivers to hospitals

Two drivers were evaluated for injuries after a two-car crash Thursday night at the intersection of County Road 6 and Billsboro Road in the Town of Geneva, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the crash happened around 8:20 p.m. and involved a white Honda Accord and a gray Chevrolet Equinox. Investigators determined the driver of the Equinox, 67-year-old Elizabeth A. Chase of Geneva, allegedly drove through a stop sign at the intersection and was struck by the Honda, which was operated by 22-year-old Alvonte M. Graves of Bellona.

Authorities said Chase suffered injuries in the crash and was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries. Graves later went to Geneva General Hospital in a private vehicle for treatment of leg pain.

The intersection was closed for about two hours while emergency crews worked at the scene and the investigation was conducted. Geneva Foreign Sports towed both vehicles from the area.

Deputies issued Chase uniform traffic tickets for allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign and not having insurance on file for the vehicle.
