Emergency crews were called to a structure fire Saturday morning at a property along East Bluff Drive near Penn Yan after a shed became engulfed in smoke.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 8:41 a.m. May 16 to 9675 E. Bluff Drive for a reported shed fire.
Deputies said the shed, located on the north side of the property, was heavily filled with smoke when first responders arrived. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the interior of the structure.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Branchport Fire Department, Benton Fire Department, Yates County Office of Emergency Management, and Penn Yan Ambulance also responded to the scene alongside sheriff’s deputies.
