Waterloo man charged after allegedly resisting deputies during dispute investigation

A Waterloo man faces multiple charges after deputies said he resisted arrest and made physical contact with law enforcement officers during a disturbance investigation Wednesday night.

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson said Willie P. Golden, 60, of Border City Road, was arrested May 6 around 10:51 p.m. in the Town of Waterloo.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a dispute in which Golden allegedly threatened another man.

Authorities said when deputies and New York State Police attempted to detain Golden, he refused lawful commands and physically obstructed officers from taking him into custody.

Deputies said Golden continued resisting after being informed he was under arrest and allegedly subjected two deputies to physical contact during the incident.

Golden was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and two counts of second-degree harassment.

He was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court on June 3 at 5 p.m. to answer the charges.
