A Waterloo man was jailed early Tuesday after police said he used a hammer to smash the window of a vehicle during a domestic-related incident in the village.
The Waterloo Police Department said Damon N. Monroe, 50, of Waterloo, was arrested around 5:04 a.m. on May 5 and charged with third-degree criminal mischief following an investigation into the incident.
Police allege Monroe used a hammer to break the window of the victim’s vehicle during the dispute. He was taken into custody and transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where he was held pending arraignment.
Authorities said an order of protection was requested on behalf of the victim.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office assisted Waterloo police with the investigation.
