Massive book sale draws early crowds

Book lovers lined up before dawn for a shot at rare finds, with some arriving hours early, according to WENY. The annual sale by Tompkins County Public Library kicked off with thousands of items up for grabs.

Organizers say the volunteer-run event ranks among the largest on the East Coast, featuring more than 230,000 donated books, movies, and more. It draws visitors from across the region and beyond.

The sale runs over three weekends in Ithaca, with proceeds supporting library programs and literacy efforts across the Finger Lakes. Another sale is planned later this year in October.
