Recognizing that grief doesn’t follow a set schedule, Thompson Health is expanding access to support by offering two monthly group sessions instead of one.
The Canandaigua-based health system announced it will host two grief support group meetings in May, giving community members more flexibility to attend.
The first session is scheduled for Friday, May 8, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the George M. Ewing Jr. Conference Room at the Constellation Center for Health and Healing. The second will take place Tuesday, May 26, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Sands Conference Room at the Thompson Professional Building.
Both locations are situated behind the hospital and can be accessed via The Thompson Way, a private drive off West Street just south of The Eye Care Center.
The support groups are open to anyone in the community who has experienced a loss through death, offering a space for individuals to connect and process grief with others facing similar challenges.
Organizers said the move to twice-monthly meetings is intended to better accommodate varying schedules and increase access to support services.
