Cornell women’s tennis saw four players recognized in the Ivy League’s postseason awards, highlighted by junior Michelle Ryndin earning first-team All-Ivy League honors in both singles and doubles, the conference announced Thursday.
Ryndin led the group with a strong all-around season, finishing 12-11 in singles play and posting an 8-5 record in dual matches while primarily competing at the No. 1 spot. She notched a notable straight-set victory over nationally ranked Princeton opponent Alice Ferlito. In doubles, Ryndin teamed with Sage Loudon to go 12-12 overall and 9-7 in dual matches at the top position, including a 4-2 mark in Ivy League play.
Loudon also earned second-team All-Ivy recognition in both singles and doubles after putting together a consistent campaign. The sophomore compiled a 16-12 overall singles record, going 10-7 in dual matches and 8-6 at No. 2. She was especially effective in conference play, finishing 4-1 in Ivy matches. Alongside Ryndin, Loudon contributed to a 13-11 doubles record, including another 4-2 showing in league competition.
Junior Victoria Zhao received honorable mention in singles after a 14-11 season, including a 9-6 dual record while splitting time between the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Zhao picked up key victories against multiple opponents throughout the year and added eight doubles wins, primarily with partner Andrea Martinez De Los Rios.
Senior Emma Baker represented Cornell on the Academic All-Ivy team, recognized for her work in the classroom and her contributions across the lineup in the No. 4 through No. 6 singles positions.
Cornell finished the season 8-12 overall and 1-6 in Ivy League play, highlighted by a road win over nationally ranked Harvard.
