Wayne County man charged with multiple felonies after firearms investigation

A Wayne County man is facing multiple felony charges after investigators say they uncovered illegal firearms, ammunition and suspected drugs inside his home.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced the charges following an investigation led by its Special Investigations Unit in the Town of Ontario.

Authorities say probation officials alerted investigators on April 15 that Lance E. Plaza-Pierce, who is currently on probation, may have been in possession of illegal firearms and selling drugs from his residence on Cortland Drive.

A search warrant was executed at the home, where deputies reported finding four firearms, high-capacity magazines, multiple calibers of ammunition, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Plaza-Pierce was initially taken into custody on a probation violation and held at the Wayne County Jail. On April 24, he was formally charged with four counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

He was scheduled to appear for centralized arraignment proceedings later that evening. Additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
