Deputies arrested a man after responding to a reported motor vehicle crash on State Route 364 in the Town of Benton Saturday evening.
Michael J. Casciani, 39, of Branchport, now faces multiple felony driving while intoxicated charges following the crash near County House Road, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrived at the scene around 6:02 p.m. on March 7 and made contact with Casciani during the investigation.
Officers reported that he showed several signs of intoxication.
Casciani completed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. Deputies then took him into custody.
Authorities charged him with DWI common law (felony), DWI with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater (felony), aggravated DWI with a BAC of 0.18% or greater (felony), and moving from a lane unsafely.
Deputies transported Casciani to the Yates County Jail. He will remain there until arraignment in the next session of Yates County CAP Court.
