Yankees shut out Red Sox for fourth straight win

The New York Yankees shut out the Boston Red Sox, 4-0, on Tuesday night at Fenway Park, extending their win streak to four games behind a strong outing from Luis Gil and a three-RBI night from Giancarlo Stanton. With the win, New York continued to build momentum in the division matchup while Boston was held scoreless throughout.

Stanton provided the offensive spark early and often. He opened the scoring with a towering home run over the Green Monster in the second inning, then added a two-run double in the sixth to break the game open. The performance marked a needed bounce-back for the slugger, who had been in a brief slump entering the night. Randal Grichuk later added an insurance run in the eighth with an RBI double, helping pad the Yankees’ lead.

On the mound, Gil delivered his best start of the season. The right-hander worked through early traffic before settling into a rhythm, keeping Boston off the board across 6.1 innings. He allowed just two hits while working around three walks, limiting damage with timely outs and a key double play. Gil continued his success against Boston, lowering his career ERA against the Red Sox even further.

The bullpen finished the job cleanly, preserving the shutout as New York controlled the game from start to finish. Contributions throughout the lineup, including multi-hit efforts and patient at-bats, helped maintain pressure despite limited scoring chances.

Box Score

The Yankees (14-9) will look to keep the streak going on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. when they continue their series against the Red Sox (9-14) at Fenway Park.
