Canandaigua man charged with assault after South Bristol crash

A Canandaigua man has been charged months after a crash in South Bristol left a pedestrian seriously injured.

Investigators with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested 58-year-old Terry S. Cole on April 20, accusing him of driving recklessly and causing significant harm in the April 6 incident.

Authorities said the crash happened along State Route 64, where Cole is alleged to have struck a pedestrian, resulting in serious physical injuries. The charge of second-degree assault stems from findings that his operation of the vehicle was reckless.

Cole was taken into custody at his residence without incident and transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment. He was later released on his own recognizance.

He is scheduled to appear in South Bristol Town Court at a later date.
