Midlakes standout Nathan Lathrop signs to play lacrosse at Alfred

A cornerstone of one of Midlakes’ most successful lacrosse seasons is taking the next step in his career.

Nathan Lathrop, a senior attacker for the Screaming Eagles, has signed to continue his lacrosse career at Alfred State, turning years of development into an opportunity to compete at the collegiate level.

Lathrop said his decision to attend Alfred State was driven in part by academics, where he plans to study electrical construction. The longtime multi-sport athlete has also contributed at the varsity level in both football and basketball during his time at Midlakes.

His lacrosse résumé reflects steady production and a role in a historic run. Lathrop was a key piece of the 2025 Midlakes varsity season, which set a program record for wins, captured a Finger Lakes West championship, and advanced to the Section V Championship Tournament.

As he closes out his high school career, Lathrop is nearing a major personal milestone, entering the end of the season with 95 career goals and pushing toward the 100-goal mark.

Looking ahead, he said he is eager to test himself at the next level while carrying forward the lessons learned throughout his time with the program. His advice to younger players is straightforward: “Put in the work and it will pay off.”
