Residents looking to plant trees, improve their property, or support local conservation efforts have a limited-time opportunity as Cayuga County’s annual seedling sale gets underway.
The Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District is now accepting orders for its 55th annual spring tree and shrub seedling sale, offering a wide selection of New York-grown plants aimed at both environmental benefits and landscaping needs.
The sale includes conifers, hardwoods, shrubs, groundcovers, and transplants, with officials highlighting their role in preventing soil erosion, improving water quality, and supporting wildlife habitats. The plants can also be used to create natural buffers for noise, wind, and snow.
Orders will be accepted through April 28, with pickup scheduled for May 8. District officials noted that supplies are limited and encouraged early orders to secure preferred selections.
The annual program has become a staple for residents and landowners looking for cost-effective ways to enhance their properties while contributing to broader environmental goals across the region.
